Moss agate is strongly connected to women in mythology.  All agates honour Aurora , Gaia, Cerridwen, and Nyx.  Moss agate in particular honours Bona Dea;  it can also be used in devotions to Clota, Callisto, Chirakan-Ixmucane, Dione, Itzpapaloti and Jana.  Moss Agate is also associated with the Heart Chakra, the Zodiac signs of Gemini and Virgo, the Element of Earth and The Moon.
For millennia, moss agate has been used as a talisman to help crops grow and to protect them from adverse weather conditions.  It has been used by warriors to make them strong and victorious, and seafarers as protection from the fury of the ocean.
Moss Agate has been used to aid in healing wounds, clearing out poisons, to treat inflammation and infection, colds, flu, fever hypoglycemia, epilepsy, sleepwalking, to help the circulatory system and as a protection against poisonous snakes and scorpions.  Moss Agate has aided midwives in their work; it is said to reduce pain and assist with delivery.   
Mentally, it is said to help improve concentration, perception, analytical abilities, balancing emotional, physical and intellectual energy, extreme mood swings, to soothe tempers and promote patience, calm and grounding.  It is said to be very helpful for those addicted to emotional drama in their lives.  It is considered an excellent stone for convalescing after illness, or recovery from addictions. It is also said to help release deep-seated fear and stresses aid those with difficult life circumstances and/or depression to find hope and trust, and to keep trying.
Moss Agate has also been considered a stone of wealth, attracting abundance in all forms. In the workplace, it is said to draw new business and gradual expansion, and increasing prosperity over time.
